We’re only too familiar with the story. You were stuck indoors for months on end, unable to get out and explore the world around you. Now, even if you are allowed out, everywhere’s closed. What happened to all those science fairs and exhibitions that so enthralled the family?

Well, the answer is they’ve moved on-line – or at least that’s what the European Researchers’ Night has done. We had planned a big event to celebrate the work of researchers in Wales. That event would have given you an opportunity to meet some of today’s researchers and see how their work is changing your life. The coronavirus obviously caused us to make some changes – the biggest of which is the venue. The advantage of this is that instead of bringing you to meet our researchers we will be able to bring them into your living room (virtually, at least).

Events for the family

Details of our exciting events for the whole family will be posted here over the next few weeks.

The Beauty of Science:

I can’t believe there are no questions that science can’t answer about our universe

Stephen Hawking

I am among those who think science has great beauty

– Marie Curie

The whole of science, and one is tempted to think, the whole of the life of any thinking person is trying to come to terms with the relationship between yourself and the natural world. Why are you here and how do you fit in. That’s what it’s all about.

– David Attenborough
